Our September meeting was attended by 27 members and 4 guests.

The president’s challenge was to turn a hollow vessel.  Winners in the advanced category were Eric Blom and Das Madhavan.  Winners in the novice category were Tim Parker and Jim Plotts.

Alfred Schembri  from the Detroit Area Woodturners gave a demonstration on turning miniature birdhouses.  It was a very informative presentation.  Alfred also brought examples of his turnings for the show and tell.  He is a very impressive turner.

The president’s challenge is to make a spindle turning.  This could be a miniature birdhouse, candlestick holder, etc.

We are working to get our website up to date.  Once that is accomplished, I will be learning how to maintain the website so I can assist in that effort.  AAW has recently started adding weekly tips and techniques to their website.  I will add links to those.  Many are rather large to attach to an email so I think this will be a better solution.
