Meeting Minutes from Lynn Southward, Secretary

MIOH Secretary’s report Oct 9

 We had two guests, Madeline Mohre  and a gentleman from Monroe whose name I did not catch . Members were reminded to renew their membership for the coming year. There were 25 members present.

Treasurer’s report showed a balance in the checking account of $2283.49

The birdhouse auction was a success some of the houses went for big bucks.

Bob Sobb is looking for a bowl gouge. If anyone has one for sale, you can contact Bob.

Tim gave us a safety alert – don’t hold your finger behind the piece of tin that you are drilling! The drill goes through skin a lot easier than it does the sheet metal. 

Lynn did show and tell. Highlight of show and tell was Eric Blom’s art piece made of burl elm. Rick Kimling did the raffle.

President’s challenge – novice 1st was Bob Sobb. Advance class was a tie between Scott Solsburg and Jim Nickless.

The election of officers was held.  Nominated were

President – Dave Finn

Vice President –Joe Wise

Treasurer –Karen Finn

 Secretary –Lynn Southward

Bill Weber’s term as member at large has not run out.

A unanimous ballot was cast for election of these officers for the coming year.

Scott Solsburg did the demo of how to make a gnome Christmas ornament.

The presidents challenge for November is to make a gnome ornament.
