May, 2017 Newsletter

Our May 12 meeting at Erik Blom’s workshop was attended by 25 members and two guests: Jon Fish and my wife Lou.

Erik demonstrated his bowl coring system as well as his hollowing system.  The demos were very informative.  Thank you Erik.

After the meeting Erik also showed his carving workshop.

Our June meeting will be on Saturday, June 9 at  10 AM at Christ Epsicopal Church.

The demonstration has not been finalized yet.  I will send an email to advise you when it is confirmed.

Bring items for show and tell and raffle, as well as the president’s challenge.

A reminder from Jim Nickless:  June 14th is Flag Day and that is the day that the V. A. Hospital hands out flags.  Our wood turners meeting is on the 9th.  If you would like to make some flag bases, bring them to the meeting and I will make sure they get to the V. A. in time.

I am attaching a woodturning tip from AAW.

See you in June.

Len
