February, 2018 Newsletter

Since our February meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather, I don’t have a lot new to report.

 Upcoming shows:

  • Tennessee Association of Woodurners 30th Annual Symposium was in Franklin, TN 1/26/2018 – 1/27/2018. Bill Weber attended, and will hopefully be able to share his experiences at the February meeting.
  • The Adirondack Woodturners Association is presenting Totally Turning 2018 on March 25 & 25, 2018 in Saratoga Springs, New York. Here’s a link: http://www.totallyturning.com/

The current issue of Woodturning Fundamentals is available on the AAW website.  There are several good articles in this issue.

The demonstration at the March meeting will be “How I fixed it”: repairing mistakes to salvage turnings.  We encourage all members to bring something to share.

The President’s challenge is carried over from February to the March  meeting:  turn a hollow vessel with the opening smaller that the diameter of the vessel.

Our March meeting will be on Saturday, March 10.  I hope to see all of you there.
