Our August 12th meeting was attended by 22 members and 1 guest.
The president’s challenge was to turn a bowl. Winners were Tom Jones (1st Place) and Das Madhavan (2nd place) in the Advanced category. In the Novice category and Tim Parker was 1st and Clyde Brasher and Jim Plotts tied for 2nd.
Pi did a demo at the Adrian Center for the Arts. While she worked in clay, her primary emphasis was on creating pleasing forms. She emphasized developing proper proportions in creating forms.

The Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild Symposium will be October 13-15 at Higher Ground Conference Center in West Harrison, Indiana. Our drawing for a free registration to this event was won by Jerry Warner. Jerry, we will expect full details about the event.

Our September meeting will be on September 9. Tim Parker signed up to bring cookies. Our demonstration will be given by Albert Schematic from the Detroit area Woodturners. He will be demonstrating spindle turning techniques.
