Announcements
Steve Funk advised the members that we must be prepared for our participation in Artalicious by the August meeting. We need two crews to man our tent: one on Sept. 21 (11AM to 7PM) and the other on Sept 22 (11AM to 5PM). Today members will take home to complete the preparation of the pen wood blanks used our pen making demonstrations. We will also need several mini lathes in the tent. Rick Kimling has lent the club his small lathes in the past. He now has health problems, so we must either get someone else to provide the lathes or contact Rick to lend the club his lathes. Also, Steve reminded us to donate some of our finished projects for the Adrian Library Auction at Artalicious.
At the August meeting Lynn Southward volunteered to demonstrate how he makes a clever magnetic vertical pen holder.

Snacks were provided by Jim Kolb, Ken Ely and others

Safety Alerts
Steve Funk reminded us to not rush while working on simple projects. While starting to make napkin rings he was drilling a guide hole for a Fostner bit but did not chuck the drill bit properly. It wiggled around and destroyed his first wood blank. After verbalizing a few Pigggy Words he rechucked the guide drill bit and completed his project.
